Our weekly Friday meditation drop-in is suitable for both complete beginners and those with some experience of the mindfulness of breathing and metta bhavana (development of loving kindness) meditations.
The newcomers class covers the following areas: posture, body awareness, the foundations of mindfulness practice and developing kindness for oneself and others. Those new to meditation will gain a practical ability in the two foundation meditation practices we teach. Meditation can produce many benefits, from reducing stress and aiding sleep to enjoying clearer states of mind, improving concentration and developing confidence and other positive emotions such as compassion and equanimity.
Time: 14.30pm - 15.30pm
Two classes: Regulars & Newcomers.
We offer Buddhism and meditation classes without any charge. We are happy to recieve donations to enable us to continue to do this. If you feel able to donate, you can do so, on line or over the phone. For folks that prefer to donate cash, there is an offerings bowl at the door.
