June 15th +16th and October 26th +27th 2024 10 am – 5 pm both days Katannuta, Bhadra and Viryadevi (June) Katannuta and Viryadevi (October) This year we are again tuning in to the Glasgow Buddhist Centre’s theme for the year: THE MANDALA of the FIVE BUDDHAS What can the mandala of the Five Buddhas teach us about how to come into deeper relationship, deeper connection with each other? Sitting in the Crucible gives us the opportunity to encounter ourselves in relation to the mandala. What can the mandala show us? How does it challenge us? Maybe to reclaim some of our wholeness, allowing all of ourselves (and each other) to be present. Maybe to allow others to be entirely different and yet still be one of ‘us’? Who knows? At the heart of the mandala is mystery and that’s what we can step into when we enter the crucible of communication. On the Saturday morning we will start with a Dharma workshop to connect with the theme and then do some structured exercises to bring us into our body, our heart, our sensed connection with ourself, with each other, the world around us. With this attunement we will move into open group process for the rest of Saturday and Sunday. We will be aiming to communicate out of what is happening here and now at the different levels of our being. Both in ourself and in relation to each other - withdrawal and engagement as one act of sensing and responding. “Raw, real and vibrant” (Taradakini) “Moving, challenging and powerful” (Suzy) Open to all who have at least 6 months experience of the meditation and puja practises of Triratna. Bookings can be for one or both weekends. For each weekend we ask you to come to both days. This is a Dana event. All donations will be used to cover the centre’s running costs and Bhadra and Katannuta’s travel expenses. Any excess will be for the centre.
