The precious guru

In a few hours I’ll be on a train heading for Adhisthana. I’m going on an order weekend with over 300 other Order members. I haven’t been on such a big event there since I left. It was great while I lived there as I could go to my bedroom in the community and hide when I wanted to. I am looking forward to practicing with those numbers even if I don’t have the bolt hole I used to have.
Straight after that is the big retreat I mentioned in last week’s blog. The Precious Guru Padmasambhava will be invoked. But I want to talk about Padmasambhava in Glasgow even as I head off to visit Padmasambhava in Herefordshire.
Just another wee plug for our Padmasambhava week which I mentioned in last week’s blog. I’m very excited about this. It’s like an urban retreat dedicated to the Precious Guru Padmasambhava and runs from Monday 22nd till Friday 26th September. Then we have the Padmasambhava day Festival on Sunday 28th.
There will be an in person meditation at 7.30am each morning Monday to Friday and we will join in from Berkeley street with the Buddhist Centre online meditation, at least on the Tuesday and Thursday as I will lead those online meditations from our shrine room those days. Those who can stay on can have breakfast together after the sit. Maybe you can come along before work or whatever your day holds.
If not, don’t worry, there will be other things happening…
There will be something each afternoon from 12.30 till 2. On Tuesday that will be joining with the lunchtime meditation class. Other days will vary. Each evening there will be an activity / event from 6.45 till 9. On Friday that will be us joining the alternative Friday meditation and puja and we will conclude the week with a celebratory puja dedicated to Padmasambhava.
There will be a full programme available soon but we wanted you to know the timings.
You can come to any or all of it. I plan to be there for most of the events and I am really looking forward to it. All of the events Monday to Friday will be in Berkeley street and the festival on Sunday will be in Woodside. Padmasambhava represents transformation and the creation of excellent conditions for practice. I hope to see many of you there.
