About

Oct 26th 10:30am - 4:30pm Traditionally the Buddhist Sangha described a community of monks – not so any more in our world! We welcome people from all walks of life, genders, backgrounds. How can we meet in this glorious diversity, appreciating difference of expression, while still being held together, cherishing and nurturing our connectedness. Can we find ways to bridge the seeming gap between self & other? If we engage in that, we might find our Sangha becomes richer and also contributes towards alleviating alienation and conflict in the world. In movement and in meditation, we will start to listen in and to each other and to connect. We will experience ourselves in interaction with others and the world, and through that discover how in this dialogue we are always new and fresh. In this way we discover that we and the Sangha can be an alive communication, where every one of us has a unique place to enrich all. Jayachitta has been exploring ways to work with the mind for nearly 40 years, with 25 years of research and practice of body-based methods. She is a clown, a movement trainer, poet and more – with a light and playful approach to teaching. Jayachitta uses movement improvisation with particular emphasis on somatic awareness, encouraging participants to pay close attention to the way inner experience and outer events arise together. Her website is playofnow.com. This is a Dana event. Dana will be split 50/50 between Jayachitta and the GBC. The centre costs about £175 to run for 2 days. You are welcome to give as much or as little as you can, but for those who find it helpful, £15-£40 should ensure that we can support Jayachitta generously.
